Why the Epistle to the Hebrews?

This Article presents an intriguing perspective on the reason and purpose of the Epistle to the Hebrews.

We understand that this Epistle was initially written in the 1st century C.E. for an audience of Jewish or Hebrew converts to Christianity who needed encouragement to maintain their trust in Yahushua the Messiah.

This Article intends to demonstrate that the Epistle’s message was prophetic and also directed to the Hebrews of the House of Israel (commonly referred to as the Lost Ten Tribes) long after the death and resurrection of Yahushua.

We will also demonstrate that the House of Israel would be located far from the biblical land of Judaea, speaking in a foreign language differing from Hebrew or Hebrew/Aramaic.

Due to time and circumstance, we are approaching, or have already reached, a crucial period for the elect audience within the House of Israel to hear and understand Yahweh’s doctrine of the Eternal Inheritance, an indispensable theme throughout all of Scriptures.

This study aims to uncover the key found in the Epistle to the Hebrews, allowing those who are truly seeking to grasp how Father Yahweh, by means of Yahushua the Messiah, enables mankind to acquire the gift of salvation and eternal life.

To begin our quest, we will first highlight three noteworthy details:

What Is Truth?

This question is one of the most profound statements in Scriptures, spoken by an unlikely figure.

The New Testament refers to him as Pontius Pilate, the Roman prefect (governor) of Judea under Emperor Tiberius from 26 to 36 C.E.

The events unfolded when Yahushua the Messiah was brought before Pontius Pilate by the Jewish religious leaders, who sought to have him executed by the Roman authorities.

Historical evidence dates this event to Abib 14, Passover day, in the year 30 C.E., corresponding to Thursday, April 6.

Could Pilate grasp some sense of truth from Yahushua?

Paul and Yahweh

Just who was the person in the New Testament named Paul (Hebrew: Saul)?

Wasn’t he the individual who was present at Stephen’s execution and consented to it?

Scriptures demonstrate clearly that the reason Stephen was murdered was because he had uttered the sacred name Yahweh, thereby committing blasphemy under Jewish law. (See Stephen and Yahweh)

There can be no doubt that Paul held to the “ineffable name” doctrine as espoused by the religious leaders of his day.

After Stephen’s death, did Paul have a change of heart regarding this “ineffable name” doctrine?

Stephen and Yahweh

In the book of Acts, Stephen was stoned to death for committing a serious breach of Jewish law.

Is there any evidence proving that the sacred name Yahweh was somehow involved with this infraction of Jewish law that led to Stephen’s murder?

Let us begin our investigation of Scriptures for the facts.

New Testament and Yahweh

Is there any proof in the New Testament that the apostles and early followers of Yahushua taught and spoke in the sacred name Yahweh?

Many would say no for a variety of reasons, one of which is that the name Yahweh is not found in any existing Greek manuscripts.

Is this really the total truth?

Proof that the original apostles adhered to the sacred name doctrine is found in numerous places in the New Testament. James shows his respect for the sacred name when he warns the disciples against favoring a rich man over someone poor:

But you dishonoured the poor. Do not the rich oppress you, and do (not) they drag you before tribunals? Do not they blaspheme the good name which is called upon you? (James 2:6-7)

John the Baptist and Yahweh

Did John the Baptist adhere to Jewish law by not speaking the sacred name Yahweh?

Scriptures seem to indicate that John was rather outspoken at times when going about doing Yahweh’s work.

Just how outspoken was John with regard to the sacred name Yahweh, especially while among the religious leaders of Judea?

If you have an interest in finding out then it is suggested that you continue reading on.

Messiah Convicted of Blasphemy

Did Yahushua the Messiah actually commit blasphemy, a charge that led to his conviction and death sentence by the religious leaders of Judaea?

Was there any scriptural basis for the extreme hatred these leaders harbored toward Yahushua, ultimately resulting in their desire for his death?

To the religious leaders responsible for Yahushua’s conviction and execution, the Messiah had much to say:

You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44)

Are there any facts that indicate Yahushua committed the scriptural crime of blasphemy, thereby justifying his execution?

Which Torah To Keep?

Many professed followers of Yahweh believe they must keep the Torah to attain salvation and eternal life.

What is essential to recognize is that there is a general lack of understanding of the two Torahs described in the Scriptures. One is the “Torah of Trust,” and the other is the “Torah of Moses.”

It is vital to recognize that keeping the correct Torah leads to eternal life, and attempting to keep the wrong one would only reward a person with eternal death at the end of the Judgment Day.

Paul and the Law – Part 2

After perusing Part 1, one might be thinking, “Paul’s writings are just a bit confusing. Why don’t we just play it safe and attempt to keep ‘The Law’ (Torah of Moses) as best as we can along with all of its works. Yahweh knows what is in our hearts and he will surely forgive any ignorance or failings on our part. When the time is right, Yahweh will reveal his truth to us and we will adjust our actions accordingly.”

Even if one were to have this attitude it would be wise to note:

For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it. (James 2:10)

Paul and the Law – Part 1

Currently, there seems to exist a serious lack of understanding regarding the concept of the Torah of Moses (the Law, Old Covenant) and its relationship to the Abrahamic Covenants of Promise (Torah of Trust).

Without this understanding it is virtually impossible for one to properly discuss the terms “Abrahamic Covenants of Promise,” “The Law,” “Works of the Law,” “Torah of Moses,” “Old Covenant,” and  “New Covenant.”

If one is interested in delving deeper into this subject then it is highly suggested you join our investigation as we uncover the facts concerning “The Law.”

The Prevailing Viewpoints
Let’s first take a look at some of the prevailing viewpoints held by various individuals and groups.

• Some believe that the Law (Torah of Moses, Old Covenant) has been completely done away with, including the Ten Commandments, and that we are now under grace.

• Others maintain that the Law (Torah of Moses, Old Covenant) is still in force and must be adhered to including all of the works that are contained within it.
