About the Name Yahweh

yhwh-11Some people need clarification about the issue of whether we can know the name of the creator. Some teach that it is impossible to attain this information. Some say the evidence reveals his name to be Yahweh, but the pronunciation cannot be known with certainty.

Some go so far as to say we shouldn’t even attempt to use the name Yahweh nor try to pronounce it, as it would disparage the creator. The logic would be that we are too ignorant and should not use guesswork when communicating with our creator. Besides, the creator recognizes our handicaps and hopeless situation, forgiving us for not obeying his instruction to know and proclaim his name. The following is just one scriptural verse of many that contradict such logic.

For it will be (that) ALL WHO WILL CALL ON THE NAME YAHWEH  SHALL BE SAVED. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem will be salvation, as Yahweh  has said, and among the saved who Yahweh  will call. (Joel 2:32)

So is Yahweh playing some cruel game with us where on the one hand, he requires us to call on his name for salvation, and then on the other, he prevents us from knowing his name, making it impossible to be saved? As Yahweh states:

Come, let us reason together. (Isaiah 1:18)

Reason and logic dictate that father Yahweh expects and requires one to use and call on his sacred name for salvation.

It is time to put the error of ignorance and falsehood behind us.

Knowledge of the sacred name Yahweh along with its pronunciation, is, in fact, attainable and is to be used and proclaimed. This is because father Yahweh has not allowed his name to be lost or hidden so mankind could never attain salvation.

  1. You’re so right, “knowledge of the sacred name Yahweh along with its pronunciation is in fact attainable.” I have also seen the argument used for those against keeping the weekly Sabbath, saying, well, no one can know when it really is, time has changed throughout centuries, etc.

Honestly, why would Yahweh give a commandment to keep the Sabbath(s), then allow it to be lost? Why would Yahweh, our parent, tell us to call upon his name and then allow it to be lost and no one know it?

It’s just not going to happen. The 3rd commandment applies to calling upon Yahweh’s name and no other deity. If we skip over it and say that no one can know it, or he knows who we’re speaking of, that makes him a liar. Yahweh does not lie, nor would he cause his Sabbath(s) to be lost in time.

And he’s our parent, we don’t name our parent! Parents name their children, not the other way around.

Thank you, Yahu Ranger, for great studies!

  2. Wow! that’s an interesting provoking thought – why would Yahweh hide or allow his name to be lost if his name is to be used by those who believe in him in addition to the fact that it is part of salvation to call upon his sacred name Yahweh. And this concept applies to any other precepts in the Scriptures that are seemingly hard to understand. If it is hard to understand for me and Yahweh says I will find the answer, something is wrong with me and/or my way of studying the Scriptures. Such other things that are hard to understand are the lost 12 tribes of the House of Israel. If it is lost, what is the sense of the promises given to Jacob/Israel through Abraham and Isaac. It makes sense that these tribes are identifiable since Yahweh does not lie. I believe this is the pivoting point of my belief system. From now on, I will attempt to reason as much as I could and pay close attention to biblical doctrinal views that I am not really satisfied with the answers I have been receiving and/or comprehending. There are several of those that bugs me a lot yet I seem to ignore them; I am still trying to seek my conscience why? I am thinking, since Yahweh promised that I will find the answer if I “ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you (Matt 7:7)”, I should be able to find the truth that wil make my beliefs stable and sound. In addition, trying to find the combination of biblical guidelines to find the truth, humbling before Yahweh that I don’t know everything is a vital start in dissecting Yahweh’s plan for mankind especially eternal salvation. I mean humbling experience as in Dan 10:12, “Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before Yahweh, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words.” Suffice to say, I will attempt to pay close attention anything I hear that makes sense especially if the matter is back-up with evidence that I could reasonably understand. It may not be easy and/or it could be hurtful since I have been brainwashed by the so-called religious scholars, self-proclaimed leaders, and academic teachers of our day but I will give my best shot to change. Hopefully, you can help me through the process Yahu Ranger. Do you think I am on the right track? Any other suggestions you can add to spice up my quest in really knowing the truth of Yahweh and adhere to them as I reach the point of understanding. Thank you much for your assistance and fascinating subject matter discussed in your blog.

  3. I have been reading your great posts recently and I find them very helpful. I have a question, though. Why did Yahweh make us? I hope you can address this query soon. Thanks

    1. Hi Autumn,

Simply put, the reason why Yahweh made us is that he wants a family. In order to have a family Yahweh needs to procreate and he is doing this via a process involving the creation of mankind.

It follows that father Yahweh is seeking a special relationship with us as part of his family.

There is much more detail involved which will be published in a forthcoming work titled “The Afterlife.”

      Thank you for your inquiry.
